We are the translators, look at our work!

Hi, we are Marina Garcerán Conesa and Alba Marín Cano and this week we have played the role of translators. During this week we have explored the most important terms related with tpack and we have considered these five words as useful to understand the topic of TPACK:

  • Pedagogical Content Knowledge (PCK) It consists on the transformation of the topics which are going to be taught, that occurs when the teacher makes a particular interpretation of the contents. To present these contents, the teacher has to adapt the available didactic resources and keep the previous knowledge of the students, the curriculum and the general programming in mind.

  • Technological Content Knowledge (TCK) It refers to the understanding of how technology and content influence and limit each other. Teachers as not only need to master the subject they teach but also have a thorough knowledge of how technologies can influence the presentation of content. And know what specific technologies are most appropriate to address teaching and learning about content or other.

  • Technological Pedagogical knowledge (TPK) Refers to how teaching and learning can change when technological or other tools are used. This includes knowledge of the advantages and limitations of various technological tools to promote or limit some or other teaching strategies.

  • TIC: TIC is the set of technologies that allow access, production, processing and communication of information in different codes (text, image, sound…) They cover a very wide range of solutions.

  • Resources: A resource is a source or supply from which benefit is produced. Typically resources are materials, services, staff, or other assets that are transformed to produce benefit and in the process may be consumed or made unavailable.
