Ilustrating words

In the classroom, we have formed a group of 8 people: Maria, Eva, Alba Lola, Trini, Marina and Carolina are the members of our group. Each group has to chose five words that appear in a list and we have to ilustrate it without putting the word so that the rest of the group guess the world when they see the illustration.

Our group has devided to do a draw of each word. We have choosen:

·Teaching: We have drawn a teacher with a blackboard.

·Deep: We have drawn a well with a down arrow indicating the depth.

·         Stangnant: We have drawn a wáter with a pluger next to it.

·         Future: We have written the words Past- Present and an interrigation in the future.

·         Success: We have drawn money, luxury, cars…

The meaninng of activity

-         -  Have you had any problem illustrating the concepts?
We have had problems thinking about how can we described the five concepts in an easy way. It had to be very clear because the classmates had to guess the concepts only with the drawings that we made.

-         -  How it is easier to know what is the concept, with a drawing? Or with a picture?
In our opinion, it depends on what we want. If we want the student to guess the concept only seeing an illustration probably it is better a drawing because he or she can focus the attention there, when you draw something to be figured out you  put the key images. In contrast, if you introduce the concept first, you can put then a picture to clarify it.

-          - Messages in illustrations help to clarify the concept?
We think that messages in illustrations helps to clarify the concept. They are necessary if the concept can be confused with a similar one and also if we want our pupils to put attention on some part of the illustration.

-          - Why do you think the other group have had problems to guess the Word?

First of all because there was some words that we were not familiarised with. Sometimes the drawings were a little confusing or two concepts were very similiar to each other.
