Hi followers! My name is Miriam Gamuz and I am the Analyst.

This week we have worked about TPACK, it is our first activity that we do in this subject and we have tried to do it as good as possible but of course we have to improve many things.


Here is my analytical vision about the week:

a)      What was the best part of the activity?

The best part of the activity was the experience that we have had about creating our first blog, it has been the first time that we have to do this kind of things. Working on groups for these kind of activities are very interesting and we are very enthusiasm with this subject because is not a theoretical subject. We can learn a lot of resources for our future class, we can do original things instead of the typical class with the textbook and this I think it’s more attractive for children.


 The task about TPACK is also very interesting and useful for us in the future. We must know the different kinds of teaching and what it is the best in every situation because our goals are that children could learn in a very good way, and for this, we have to use contents, pedagogy and technology at the same time.  It is the best way for teaching and we must do it as good as we can because we want to be very good teachers!

b)      What was the worse?

The worse part of the activity was the fact that we have never done this type of tasks and we were a little lost at the beginning because all the things were new for us. We haven’t worked in this way because we have never study this kinds of things in the school although it is supposed that we have to learn it. In the curriculum appears the forth competence that we have to learn is “Tratamiento de la información y competencia digital” . In particular, in the block four that is called “Internet y redes sociales virtuales” there is one point: “La información y la comunicación como fuentes de comprensión y transformación del entorno social: comunidades virtuales y globalización. Chatrooms, foros, weblogs o blogs, wikis, BSCW”. There are many things in the curriculum that we haven’t learnt in the school about technologies. There is a link of the curriculum of the subject of informatics in 4th of ESO that show the thinks that it is supposed to teach at this course:


        The question is that what it is the reason because teachers don’t do the things that the       curriculum shows.

Because of that, we have to dedicate a lot of time in this subject and we haven’t got enough for the others. 

c)       What was the best moment of the week (in the work of the group)?

The best moment of the week was when we were already coordinate as a group. Each person had their own role and each one knew what they had to do in their role, we have known how to post in the blog, how to change the things in the blog, when we have the twitter done... The best moment of the week has been the moment when we have already explored all the things we have to do and we can use them with any difficulty so we are proud of ourselves.


We, now, know the specifics objectives that the subject has. We can have an idea and we are less afraid than before. 
d)      What was the worse?

The worse moment of the week was at the beginning because we had never worked together as a group and for the first time it’s a difficult task to coordinate 8 people who work in different ways.


There were a lot of things new for us and we have had only one week for coordinate us and know how to use all the things that the teacher asked for, so we felt a bit overwhelmed at first because we thought that it was a lot of things in not enough time and if this week we have to work a lot in this subject, the next weeks will be the same, so we were a little afraid because we didn’t know anything about the subject. We thought that this subject will be very difficult because we have to discover things for ourselves and we have never done this before and we were a little lost.

e)      What have you learnt?

First of all, we have learnt that there is another kind of teaching, that it’s called “Aprendizaje por tareas” and it isn’t a teacher that explains a lesson with a book while the students are sitting in their chairs just listening to him. This kind of teaching is different, the teacher proposes a task and the student has to investigate it using a range of resources. The teacher doesn’t explain anything, except when the student asks him a concrete doubt. Thanks of that, we know that this kind of teaching also can be used in our future class with our students.

For working in this subject, we also have to do a group and coordinate us, because it was the first time we work together. Each member of the group have a different role in the task so we have to know what were the different roles and the function of each one, for example, the curator farmer of this week have had to investigate how to use the pearltree because she has to do one and she had never done one.

Another thing that we have learnt is how to do a blog and to use it. We must do a blog for post every week our work so we have to do one and decorate it the best as possible and it was the first time that we do one. So we have had to investigate how to do a blog and decorate searching different pages in internet.

 Also, we have learnt to do an investigation work with a specific topic the group and divide up the things we have to do. This week, we have to investigate about what TPCAK is, and we can realize the importance that TPACK has in the teaching process, because TPACK contains the three broader domains, TPACK is the technological pedagogical content knowledge. And inside TPACK we can distinguish also the TCK (technological content knowledge) , PCK (pedagogical content knowledge) and TPK (technological pedagogical knowledge).


Another thing that we have learnt this week and we thing that it will be very useful for our future as a teachers is the presentation in where we have to presenting and explain what TPACK means for our colleagues. This experience seems that we are real teachers and we can feel as a teacher too.

f)       What do you need to conserve –as a group- for the next weeks?

We must keep the enthusiasm to do the best job because we are keen to learn many things about the different resources we can use in the future for our class and put aside the typical class with the textbook and do another dynamics things because children would be more interested in classes that don’t use the typical methodology.

We must conserve that we have to take it seriously always and work as much as possible for doing the best job not only for the best mark, because this kind of resources are very useful in the future.


Also, we have to help each other because we are a group and we must to be united so if someone in the group need help because doesn’t know something the other members must help her and oppose the problems together. Because this is that real groups do.
g)      What do you need to improve –as a group- for the next weeks?

We need to improve the coordination of the group because at first we haven’t known exactly what we have to do and how we could divide the work for each member do a part and everyone has to know her own task according to her role and we will improve our work because we will see the mistakes that we have done in this week and we must try to don’t repeat the same mistakes making each one their work well.


Also, we have to learn to divide our time better and dedicate more time for the others subjects because this week we haven’t dedicate enough time for the others and we have much work to advance. 
h)      How THIS content is related to other contents in the course and in your degree?

This content is related with the way teachers should teach, they must teach the content in a pedagogical way using the new technologies. Thanks TPACK we can analyse the way our teachers use to teach us, we can confirm that old teachers, for example, don’t use so much technology and nowadays this is the future because technology are now introducing in the broader range of education and when we are teachers the most of the schools may use the technology for a way for teach.

 We are going to be primary teachers, so we must know about this kind of teaching in order to motive children to learn in an interesting way.

We can categorize the different subjects that we have had in the first course into the three domains of TPCAK:

Contents: “Teorias e instituciones contemporáneas de la educación”, “Planificación de la acción educativa”, English, “Comunicación oral y escrita de la lengua española”
Pedagological: Developmental Psychology, Educational Psychology, Sociology, “Diversidad del alumnado y acción tutorial”.
Technological:  ICT.

There is a subject that use TPACK: School organization and educational resources, this subject use the technological pedagogical content knowledge because we learn the contents always in a technological way and also we learn pedagogical contents in it so we can say that it uses the model of TPACK.


Each teacher has their own way to teach but after studying what TPACK means, we have realize that the best way of teaching is using the TPACK model because it is the most complete.

i)        There is any evident social connection of this content (news, politics, etc.)?
Nowadays there is an increase in the use of social networks like: Facebook, Twitter, Tuenti... and technologies in general. We, as teachers, have to be updated because children must know how to work with the facilities that technology offers because work with technology is the future and we have to know it for can teach for our students in the future. And moreover we should know this kind of things for having resources and for doing an interactive class in which not only a textbook can be used to teach.
