The analysts of this week present...



Hello everyoneee :))
We’re Alba and Marina and we have adopted the role of the Analyst for this week. 
We supose you know, but we're going to remind the purpose of an analyst. An Analyst has to evaluate the work of the group. Besides, every week the Analyst has to respond some questions. And this is what we are going to do right now. 
But before starting, We have to say that we have never adopted this role, and we are so excited about it! 



What was the best part of the activity?


The task of this week was so complete, because we had to make a summary about what we have learnt since the beginning of the subject. We must know how to capture all this in an animation in video format (max 1.30 long) with the tool Moovly or Powtoons.


When we started working in the task, firstly we were a bit confused and stressed, I mean it was a new tool for us and this task was the last activity of this part of the subject. The video will do the review of the semester until now. Because of this, we wanted to do a great and fantastic video to impress the entire group.


But the stress was extended only during four or five minutes. Then we relaxed and all members of the group began to give their ideas until coming to an agreement. And we have to say that the best part of the activity was when we really realized and were conscious of all what we had learnt. In our opinion, the way we have acquired the knowledge of this subject is different from the other subjects’ methodologies and we have learnt a lot of contents without realizing. 

What was the worse part of the activity?


First, to make the video we had to decide between two tools: moovly or Powtoons. We chose Moovly, because it seemed easier and we had seen lots of Moovly's videos and we really liked them.
At the beggining, we were confused the same as every moment we start a new task. That is because we don't know how to use this new tool, we are use to having explanations about all the new things, but in contrast we are not use to investigating by ourselves. Maybe, this is the reason why we sometimes get stressed easily when Linda give us a new task.

We also had troubles when we realize that we had to summary all the subject in only 1:30 seconds. We had many ideas and we had to select some of them and then, summarized then. It was difficult for us, because we are not very good at sumarizing things. The reason if this in our opinion is that in other courses teachers use to gave us all the contents summed up so we had only to study it directly.

What was the best moment of the activity?


As we said before, the beginning of the task was a little oppressing, but once we had a structure in mind, we started configuring the video step by step. We decided to center our video on TPACK model, and we classified the contents we have learnt in Technology, Pedagogy and Contents, to make understood some that is so important: the combination of these three aspects to be a good teacher.



And the moment that we remember like the best was the moment in which we had finished the video and we saw it complete. We were so excited and proud of our work, because we had never worked with these tools, in our case, Moovly.

Then, we presented the video to the rest of the class in the entire group session.  All groups had to grade each groups’ videos and we think that almost all of them liked our work. In fact, our group (C’mon Tutankamon) and other group of the class called Hide and Seek were the winners. We also felt so happy in this moment, because it is always gratifying if a work is recognized. Thank you very much!!!!!






What have you learnt?

First, of course we have learnt to use a new tool, and for us, a very useful tool: moovly. It's a very interesting and funny way to show things, ideas, that is, to present something to any people. We are future teachers, and we are in a society that is developing more every day, so we have to learn how to use technological tools, and moovly is one example.

We have also learn how to sum up a lot of things in a short period of time. That is a very important aspect in learning because we have to know how to express things in a easy and funny way, for our future students and also for ourselves.

Finally, we think that we have learnt how to learn, we mean, now we know how to investigate  and we don't need that teachers tell us all the things we have to do. We have learnt how discover things alone, that is LEARNING BY DOING, and not only listen to the explanations of a teacher.

What do you need to conserve -as a group- for the next weeks?

And what do you need to improve –as a group- for the next week?



We think that in our group all members work together and we always trait to organize and share out the work in the better way. We also trait to keep in mind all the ideas and opinions of each member, because we can help each other. But it is important to keep calm and conserve our patient to get a good work. We do not need to overwhelm or get stressed. Get nervous will not fix anything. And this is a thing that we would like to change to improve as a group. 

Even so, we think each member of the group is implicated and involved as much as they can and all of us trait to show interest in every week task.
It is clear that we always can improve, but personally I think that the entire group feels good and integrated when we work together.

On the other hand, we have never worked in a large group and it was not so bad for being the first time. But we are going to do everything we can to grow as a group. 

How this content is related to other contents?


Well, the task of this week is related with most of the subjects of the degree of Primary Education, because summarizing is very important and we have to do it almost all time.
During all the course and also the degree we are going to receive lots of contents, practices, presentations... and one of the most important things is to know how to sum up them in a good way. We have to know also what tools use for it, and tis week we have learnt to use an example: Moovly, but there are many more.

Thanks of this activity we have also discovered that we can learn many things in a differrent way, not only with textbooks and all the tradicional tools we are use to see.
This is so related with our future profession, because we can apply allthe knowledge we have acquired to our future way of teaching.

There is any social connection of this content (news, politics) ?

This task has a social connection because our society is sourrounded by lots of technologies, every day there are more and more new tools and we have to adapt to our environment and learn about all these tools.
It's important to know our society and all the media that manage it, we have go keep in mind all of this for making a good use of technological tools.







 

This week, we are... the stars!

We are Carolina and Lola and our role this week was the STARS!

This week, the work consisted on remember and thinking all the contents and the practices that we have  learnt in this subject until now, then we had to make a video with moovly program.

 When we finished this video, we presented our work in class.

On the one hand, it is important to know how use moovly, we had seen different videos about moovly programme to understand how we can use it.

Like I said before, in the video it appears all the contents, the technology and the pedagogical methods that we have studied until now like for example: What is a Tpack model?, a Treasure Hants, Cartographic Proyection and so on. At the same time, we learn to use differents programs like Powerpoint, Pearltree, Moovly...

It is important to know and remember that all the music and the images that we have been using in all these proyects or works are with Creative Commons Licence.

T-journalist in session

Hi readers! It’s Trini again but, this week and to finalize this part of the subject (Resources) I’m playing the role of the Journalist that, as you can see in the Journalist’s last post, is the person who tell the dynamic of the weekly work of, in this case, C’mon Tutankamon’s group.


To sum up all the knowledge we acquire these weeks before, our teacher Linda asked us to do a summary to get a global idea of what we have discovered in her classes. Until this point all was going pretty well. In our minds we started to create different types of this “summary” in Word, Power Point, or just in a post in our blog but…

 "this seemed to be too easy".

As we  have expected Linda continue explaining that for summarizing all of this, we have to create a short “Moovly” of about 1’50’’ min. I’m sure you can imagine our faces of “Moov…what?”
And, as always, we have to investigate about how to create it.



At first we discovered that Moovly is an easy animation tool that lets you create animated videos, banner ads, interactive presentations and other compelling animations online. The truth is that we like a lot the programme and we are glad to know about its existence because we think it could be usefulfor a lot of different situation. We saw a few Moovlys created by other people on-line and we strengthen the idea of how funny, dynamic and useful it was.

After hours of type buttons and explore all the possibilities Moovly give to us, we started to desing how we want for our moovly and what we want to transfer to the public that could saw it anywhere and anytime.



We worked and worked, putting photos, words, animations, music, transitions and so on and we think we did a great job distributing what we have to do each one of us.

Honestly, today (that  was the presentation of the Moovly of every group in the class) we went so happy because we know that our work was very elaborated but, the level of the effort in the Bilingual class is really awesome so we just expect our Moovly to be “one of all the goods Moovlys in the class”.


Linda stared to organize us, to do like an “Eurovision contest” but about Moovly. It seemed to be sooooooo fun. Each star of the group has to stand up and say for example “Hi! We are Lola and Carolina from C’mon Tutankamon and the scores we are…” and then they said the scores of each group that, previously all the groups were decided like “8 points goes to…. Educational Rush Hour!” and so on.

All was just a friendly game for us until we started to get 12s from a lot of groups. We were just like... 



and we started to shout it out and clap our hands, stand up, even whistle!!!

Finally, we were so near of Hide and Seek whose video was fantastic and all the competition has been hotly contested between us but, in the end, we both tied.

We were so amazed, marvelled and we get a rush of self-steem for the rest of the week. We can get whatever we proposed!!!

Our GroupTree!

Hi followers! I am Maria Fuentes Martinez, this week my role has been Curator-Farmer. I have been  in charge of compiling and organizing the theoretical references  that we have used to do the activity about Summarizing the subject until now. The facilitator is here!


My role during this week has been FACILITATOR.
As you may know, the facilitator is the person that coordinates and distributes the work between the members of the group.
It’s also the person who has to find the solution to the different problems during the work.

The first thing we did, like all the weeks, was distributing the work between all of us to make it easier and faster, and not to let one person to do the whole work. So, each member of the group has to make a part of the week’s task and also his own role.
The roles of this week has been:




When Linda presented us the task os this weeks, we were excited and nervous at the same time. We had to talk about "the dark side of text books" but firstly we had to explore about that, so we read the web pages that Linda provided us and also we found some information in other pages. 
We chose advertisements, and we all agree, because it seemed to us a funny and interesting way to show our opinions and ideas. 
Then, we made a brainstorming, and we said a lot of interesting ideas so we selected the best ones and we started to structure our advertisements. 
Maria and Miriam who were the stars would appear in all the videos and would have to talk more than the others. We distrubute the roles in the videos according to this. But all of us appeared in at least one of the three videos. 


We started our project in class and when we finished the structure of the advertisements, we met to record them. 
It was so funny because our advertisement were funny at all! We all worked together and help one to another, we laughed a lot but we also made the work well. 
Maria and Miriam, the stars recorded the last video in Callosa del segura with some students of a local school, of course with their parents' consent. 
Finally, Maria used the Movie Maker to put the videos together and added the effects. 

We were proud of our work, because we think that our advertisements were not so bad.
It has been a really good experience.

Here you have a ... journalist!!

Hi, I’m Marina Garcerán and I have adopted the role of the JOURNALIST for the task of this week.
A journalist have to tell the history of the group, has to explain the dynamic of the weekly work and recover evidences, like pictures, audio... And this is what I’m going to do now.

The textbook is a classic resource that has been configured as a crucial part of curriculum, in almost every country around the world. The textbook is only another resource, but behind the politics related to this there are many interests and a concrete way to understand education and teaching. Because of this, this week we have explored The Dark side of Textbooks.

Firstly, all group members read several documents which helped us to understand better the task.


After reading these documents, we understood, for example, that a textbook can be a guide for a teacher to teach children, but the real purpose is not that children memorize the entire book during the course, if not learn some new concepts that will help them in their future.
Besides, it is important to know that we can make children learn with a lot of resources, apart from the textbooks.

After that, each group had to do a presentation against the use of textbooks as basic resources in a classroom. For the presentation we could decide to use one of these formats: a comic, an infographic, a Fable (with a moral), a Twitter timeline or a series of TV advertisements.
C’mon tutankamon chose the last option and we made three TV advertisements, which were entiled: “And me, I am not important?”, “Stop her!” and "Your back hurts you, don´t worry you have to carry on kilos of books in your backpack".  
The last was made in the School Primo de Rivera, in Callosa (Alicante), with 6th of Primary students.

Then, the stars of this week, María and Miriam, presented these TV advertisements to the rest of the class the last Thursday.  
Here you have some evidences that can prove it :)


Finally, the rest of the groups presented us their presentations against textbooks. All of them were too interesting and had been worked a lot.
